Natalie Grunnan

She may be from San Diego, but her heart was born in country. The burning passion for country music began at age seven when Natalie received a Shania Twain CD for Christmas.  The songwriters bug hit immediately as she found herself studying structures and writing her own lyrics to instrumental tracks. By age 11 she began playing guitar, writing and performing everywhere she could. In 2016, Natalie moved to NY and created her first musical project called “Natalie & The Damn Shandys” or “The Shandys” for short. Her objective is to engage listeners with honest, heartfelt lyrics complimented by soaring harmonies and organic musicianship. Within the first year of releasing her music, the band was direct support for Chely Wright, Trace Adkins, Joe Nichols, Marshall Tucker Band and Corey Smith. “The Shandys” consists of Natalie Anne (Vocals, Guitar), Ben Gorham (Vocals, Keys) and Rob Wagner (Vocals, Lead Guitar). The trio released their debut EP Overlook Trail on Esque Records & VuDu recordings in May 2019. Since that EP, Natalie & The Damn Shandys have released several singles including 48 Polaroid, What’s One More, Homebody, & Lay Eyes on You. CMT spotlight premiered the video for “Lay Eyes on You” in August of 2021. In addition, the single was added to AMC Awards New Music Friday along with Ty Bentli’s soundtrack playlist. In a review of their show with Chely Wright, The Daily Times wrote, "Chely Wright took the stage shortly after inviting Grunnan (Natalie) up to sing with her. Wright couldn’t say enough nice things. In fact, she proclaimed Natalie & The Damn Shandys are destined for great things.”
